G&T Report

November, 2008

Submitted By: Janet Logan

This is my last season as Western Region G&T. Anyone interested in applying for this position please contact me or another member of the Executive. This is a very important position in any region and it needs to be filled.

The Regional League Ad Hoc Committee is meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in Waterloo. We have invited each of the Leagues to send 2 representatives to be a part of the process. All associations should be aware of this Committee at this point in time and have been asked by their Leagues to supply feedback and input to the process.

Any players on 2-team agreements that have not been received prior to the November 20th meeting will not be permitted to play for the second team until approval of the contract is given by both G&T and Membership Services and the Registrar for the second team’s association (even if it is the same association) is informed of the approval.

Provincial fees for both the London and Gloucester events are set at $1100.00. Intents to Proceed and the fees are to be submitted at the November 20th Region Meeting.

The ORA Board has asked G&T to look at a document with proposals for the formation of AA and A teams. We are to seek feedback from our member associations and provide a report to the Board by the end of December. Please look over the proposal in conjunction with the discussion points put forth by Western Region. I require any feedback from the Board proposal prior to December 15th so that I may send my response to the rest of the G&T Committee before the holidays.

Tournament Hosts please do not ask for an extension beyond the 5 days on the post-tournament package. Please submit an electronic copy of the scored schedule as soon as possible, this is especially important for those associations that are hosting Provincial level divisions. Ideally, the scores can be e-mailed to me by Monday morning.

Teams and tournaments also need to keep me in the loop as there are changes to their status within tournaments.

All teams need to report their games. Scores which are recorded on the Region website(www.wrra.ca) are as submitted by the teams. Those found on the various League websites are the responsibility of the Leagues and any errors or omissions there should be reported to the League. Referee comments MUST be reported. Do not leave the comments out of your game reports your opponents report them so you are not doing yourselves any favours by leaving them out.

Associations with a General e-mail contact…this does not work for G&T requests. I need a contact that I can rely on.
