Western Region G&T Report
November 15, 2007
REMINDER: COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOUR OF THEIR RESPECTIVE PLAYERS, BENCH STAFF AND SPECTATORS
Team Numbers: there is no reason for this number to not be on every game sheet; coaches must have access to their TRF–therefore they have access to their team number. Easiest method is to put it on the stickers. Stickers when used must be on every page, if you don’t have enough write in the names.
Substitutions: Leagues govern league games and each league has their own rules governing substitutions. These rules are in conjunction with the ORA rules on substitutions and not in place of. A team can only bring in substitutes IF their roster falls below 10 skaters and a MAXIMUM of 3 substitutes may be brought in. If a TRF roster is registered with fewer than 10 skaters then the maximum is still 3 or fewer to bring the roster to its original size. A roster may not increase in size with the use of substitutes.
Example: 11 on the TRF. 3 skaters missing…2 substitutes
11 on the TRF 4 skaters missing…2 substitutes
9 on TRF 4 skaters missing…3 substitutes
15 on TRF 5 skaters missing… 0 substitutes
Contact G&T if there are any questions. In many cases Goaltenders are given exemptions.
2-Player Agreements: unlike releases this is governed by G&T and all agreements are to be signed by me before the players take part in any games for the SECOND team. When submitting the following information is required:
Why is this necessary?
Which team has priority?
Is there a release in effect?
While a player may play in League games on both teams in a weekend at no time may a player play in two provincial championships or in two tournaments on the same weekend or for two teams in the same tournament.
Penalties: report all penalties that are FULLY SERVED (codes #14 through #18) also any that are 4 minutes. In the majority of cases these penalties will be written in the Referee Comments, which must accompany the game report submission. All Bench penalties must also be reported, when coaches are ejected this needs to be properly indicated on the game sheet.
There are automatic suspensions that accompany any Misconduct in the last 5 minutes of a game or any Match Penalty.
Misconduct and Match Penalties will be reviewed by the Region to determine if further Disciplinary action is required.
Tournaments: Tournaments should be using the “package” that was e-mailed by Jo-Ann Wilson in October to organize their paperwork and scheduling. At the present time the reporting format is still in limbo, Hosts are to submit a SCORED schedule to me within the 5-day reporting deadline Last seasons Matrices are also an excellent reporting format but not all the possible combinations are currently available to Hosts. . For those that have asked for a format I have sent a copy of the London reports.
The A and AA teams are to continue to keep me informed of the tournaments that they have applied to, been rejected from and accepted to. As many have learned this season, teams must be aware of the policy used by associations to select the teams. If it is not obvious in their Tournament application documents…ASK for clarification.
Questions to ask:
Is this first in/first entered?
How many teams in my division are you accepting?
Will the Host Association coach in my division be a part of the decision process or scheduling process?
When will I know if I am accepted?
Can I withdraw after I have been accepted? Is there a refund deadline?
Provincial Fees: $1100.00 per team registration fee for the Provincials, due immediately.
