Western Region Officiating September 2007
Grab your shirt, lace up your skates and start blowing your whistle, it’s Ringette season again!!! Hi everyone, welcome back to another great year in Western Ringette World.
Last season we implemented an Officiating schedule for all A and AA games within the region. This system received lots of positive feedback from both the officials and the coaches so we will be using it again this year. This means that I will be assigning refs to these games in order to make sure that there are qualified officials at every A or AA game in the region. Clinics:
Right now I have four level 1 clinics and two level 2/3 clinics booked. I will add more if we need them, so you must register online ASAP so we can see numbers. If you have been reffing for 3 years or more and have not yet attended a 2/3 clinic please try and attend one this year as it will become mandatory over the next 2 years. There will be a price increase for the 2/3 clinic this year as we will be adding a case book to the materials you receive. If you already have a case book, bring it with you to the clinic and you will be charged a lesser fee.

Please note: To Register for a level 2/3 clinic you must be 16 years old by the end of 2007 and must have 3 years experience as an official.

Level 2/3: Waterloo – Saturday October 13th, 8.00am till 5.00pm, Albert
McCormick Arena – ONLY 3 REGISTERED
IN ORDER TO COVER OUR COSTS THESE CLIICS WILL ONLY RUN IF 8 PEOPLE ARE SIGNED UP – PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR ASSOCIATIONS AND LET EVERYONE KNOW OR I WILL BE FORCED TO CANCEL THESE CLINICS NEXT WEEK.
Rule Changes:
There have been numerous changes to the rules this year and this is not a rule change year so please be patient with your officials as some of them will not be aware of the rule changes or will not be implementing them correctly. I am trying to contact all my officials and direct them to the ORA website, but there are some that I will miss. If you need a rule clinic for your coaches, parents or officials please let me ASAP so that I can organize it soon.
I will be hosting one in London on Sunday October 21st at Carling Arena – please contact Kevin Knight if you wish to attend as well.
I will also be hosting one in Kitchener on Saturday September 29th, 2pm at Lions Hall – please contact Linda Clark if you wish to attend.
