The Rat Team played in their Second Challenge Cup in Pickering, bringing home the Bronze Medal, after being defeated in OT in a 7-6 Semi-Final game against Central Region. The North Bay Challenge Cup included, their overall record is 6 Wins, 3 Losses and 1 Tie. We should all be proud of their accomplishment and the good manner, in which they represent our region.

Ontario Winter Games: London, Mar 11-14, 2004

We wish them continued success on the road towards the Ontario Winter Games!!!

They are still looking for donations of Ice Time from the Region Associations, for Practice sessions or exhibition games. Please, contact Chuck Belanger at (519) 352-8045 or email creeklin@ciaccess.com. Or if you can’t donate ice time, a monetary donation towards ice time can also be made.

The League has finished most of its 1^st half schedule, with about 9 games remaining unplayed. The scores are being reported in a timely manner and always kept up to date on the Website by Keith. Anyone can check some of the scores and standings on our website, www.wrra.ca. Looking at some of the result there seems to be some good competition between our teams.

The second round schedule has been emailed to everyone and most all teams have started playing. All these games were scheduled around the Tournaments and a couple of other Leagues, and still some games were hard to schedule or remained unscheduled. For all the scheduled games, there should be very few conflicts.

We are also planning on a meeting before the season wraps up, to get some feedback on the season and to map out the direction of this League.

Just a reminder, that the aim of the League is to promote and develop the "A/AA" game of Ringette in Western Region as well as foster good sportsmanship and fair play.
