WORL President Peter Westelaken called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. approved by St. Clements and seconded by St. Marys.

Minutes:

The minutes of the October 11th meeting were read by Shirley Verhoeve and approved by Chatham and seconded by Forest.

 

 

1st Half of Season Reports:

Scheduler:

We had some delays, and late declaring of level of play from some associations. Things are running smoothly now.

Petite Convener:

One issue early in the season. All games have been played.

 

Tween Convener:

Had a couple of games changed. No other problems.

Junior Convener:

No problems

Belle Convener

Have a few games that need to be looked at.

Website:

We need teams to submit scores for league, tournament and exhibition. Some associations are not doing this. Fines will be sent out to some associations. Keith reminded us that Ringette Canada rules are a maximum 7 goal spread in any game. Please record games using this rule.

Prelims:

AA teams:

All AA Tween’s and Junior’s will play during the Waterloo tournament Jan. 20 -21, 2006. Please send in your registration sheet to Waterloo. Do not pay any registration fee at this time. Western Region will bill each association at a later date.

Petites: All petites that are seated AA after the seeding meeting in January will go to provincials. All A teams will participate in the Prelims in Elora Fergus.

Intent to Proceed

A few associations have not sent in their intent to proceed to provincial sheet. This must be in the hands of Janet Logan by January 1, 2006.

All AA teams hoping to go to Nationals need to send in their intent to proceed to Nationals sheet ASAP. Fax Mary Kaiser @ 519-521-5252.

A Teams:

Janet Logan informed the Junior A and Open A teams that they will be participating in prelims in Elora-Fergus. They will play two games Saturday and the third game Sunday if needed. (2 out of 3 series)

Seating Discussion:

President Peter Westlaken turned this part of the meeting over to Scott Borland the scheduler.

Petite:

After much discussion.

Dorchester motioned that all Petite teams will play every one once and the home games will be flipped from the first half. Seconded by Tillsonburg. This gives them 9 games the second half. Carried.

 

 

 

 

Tween:

After some discussion.

Motioned by Chatham that the Tween A teams play a 3 game home, home and ? schedule. Seconded by London. Carried

This will give them 10 games the second half.

Junior:

The Junior A teams will play a 3 game home, home and ? schedule. This will give them 7 games the second half.

Junior AA:

The Junior AA teams will play a 3 game home, home and ? schedule. This will give them 9 games the second half.

Belle A:

Home and home series amongst Belle A teams and one game each against London Open A team. This will give them 9 games the second half.

Belle AA:

Not playing in WORL second half.

NOTE: All AA teams must have games from the first half played by the Waterloo tournament (Prelims) Rescheduling is only allowed due to weather.

Open A:

Double home and home amongst Open A teams.

Schedule second half:

Ice times must be handed into Scott ASAP.

New Business:

  1. Discussion game times. After much discussion on "What is a suitable time to have teams back in their association after games". It was decided to table this till the Annual Meeting.
  2. Coaching Qualifications: Letters will be sent out to associations that do not have qualified coaches on their benches.
  3. Rule Change Clinic: LAST CHANCE Thursday, December 15th @ 7:30 p.m. Optimist Hall Dorchester.

Adjournment:

A motion to close the meeting @ 8:53 p.m. was made by Exeter seconded by Waterloo
