Issues with rosters: St. Mary’s has 2 players on their roster. Players reside in Woodstock, Dorchester is their home association. Players need to be released from St. Thomas, London and Dorchester. Did not attend tryouts in St. Thomas or London. St. Thomas and Dorchester have released them.
Player tracking – not everyone complied
Once teams are declared at this meeting, players on the roster cannot be cut to open a spot for a new player. If space is available, you can add to your roster.
New ORA rules state that you do not have to have a goalie. WORL rules state that you must have a goalie.
Discussion regarding A tryout process:
Timing – ice availability for that time of year
Too much time – some tryouts very early and some late in the summer
London spread out their tryouts in order to accommodate people on holidays. Had smaller Associations waiting to pick their teams
Suggestion – that larger centres have their tryouts first
Comment – Elora Fergus feels that it’s better to look at all the Provincial players at one time. Spreading tryouts out into 2 tiers is stressful on the players.
Janet commented that the intent on the point of leaving rosters open was for Belle and Open (University students and players moving into the area). Expectation of the lower divisions is that your roster would be filled by tonight.
Process needs to be reviewed to close off loose ends. Ad Hoc Committee will work on this.
Treasurer’s Report
Balance: $6436.24 including $5600.00 in bond money.

League Championship Format – bring ideas to upcoming meetings or email to Peter.
Mary Kaiser: has 4 shot clocks. She will bring them to the WR meeting next week. If you take a shot clock and someone needs it for a tournament in the region – your responsibility to get it to that Association.
Stated that there have been rule changes – though it’s not a rule change year. 2-3 clinics will be set up for coaches to attend. Attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory.
