  2. Presentation of 1999 Regional Awards to Elora, Woolwich & Jane Larksworthy. Also magnets were handed out to each association.

Awards: Adult Development Volunteer - presenter Helen Rivest to Juanita Nicholson

Coaching - presenter Betty Ann to Lucky Clark (22 years of dedication)

Officiating - presenter Jeff to Bill Kaiser (1985 - present of dedication)

Sport Development - presenter Helen Rivest to Connie Lang (15 years of dedication)

Association of the Year - Chatham

Pat Redman Award to Julie Ritchie of Exeter

6.2 Elite Development - Lucky Clark

An excellent year, great program, once in a life time experience for both the girls and the coaching staff. I encourage the girls in your association to come and try out for this wonderful program.

6.3 Games & Tournament - Ginette

Congratulations to all our Western Region Provincial winners.

Note the following changes:

  1. Provincial A - two 15 minute stop time periods
  2. wild card submissions - you must participate in 2 tournaments prior to February 1st
  3. Provincial Championship ties will require mini-games to be played
  4. match penalty - call G & T within 48 hours


6.4 Officiating - Jeff

Extremely busy year - rule change year and refresher

Level I - $50 cost/person - fee change to balance expenses

Level II/III clinic - remind the Level I referees to attend these

256 games for Regionals 2000, weekend was very busy, but run smooth.

Very smooth year - certified over 100 coaches. Looking for new hosts for clinics for the new season.

Level I - October 14th in Hanover

Level II - ??

Call with your numbers, and if you wish to be a host. Lucky suggested London.

6.8 Membership Services - Brian (absent)

Main concern - paper work not completed as stated in the ORA Manual, 2 player rule and release process

Suggestion - A summary statement for the year.

Mary's attendance at the Nationals, her supply teacher days.

Motion - Mary Kaiser be reimbursed $685 ÷ 2 = $342.50 for costs of supply teacher days purchased to release Mary to attend the Ringette Nationals.

Waterloo/Hanover

Motion To accept the treasurer's report as presented with a full year end statement for 1999-2000 to be presented at the first meeting of 2000-2001 season.

Huron-Perth/Mt Forest

  1. New Business:

Keith - Regionals 2000: Jeff, Ginette did an outstanding job. All invoices have not been received as yet. Approximately - $840 souvenir, $300 photographer & $1400 draw table. Everything went fairly smooth, a learning experience without a main host. Possible 7 arenas to be used for Regionals 2001. Albert McCormick arena to be our main arena. 2002 Regionals to be held in Waterloo at the new 4 pad complex. Sponsorship - Sam Besse

Western Region, Waterloo Ringette and the City of Waterloo to become Ontario's candidate to host the 2003 Canadian Ringette Championship was accepted. The next step is our application. Send your letters to Sam Besse.

7 officials from Ontario participated at the Nationals. The Nationals in B.C. was a great experience.

The Annual General Meeting for ORA is May 26-28 in Sudbury.

Letter from Huron-Perth - thank you to Keith Kaiser for all your work, web-site included - he loves doing it. "Keep up the good work, Keith".

It was suggested that our first meeting should be held the 2nd week of September in Stratford at the Spruce Lodge.

Draw for Eagle Lake - Mt Forest, 2nd place SWIRL, re-draw - St Mary's
